The simple reason is that most marshmallows manufactured in the U.S or abroad are made with gelatin derived from pork. They typically contain pork or beef gelatin from doubtful sources (unknown slaughtering method). I love these marshmallows as they do not contain gelatin. Being raised as a non Muslim I had no dietary restrictions, I just didnt like the taste of marshmallows.
